Herbal Gardens Initiative
Bringing herbs and medicinal plants to everyone, free of cost!
Home Herbal Gardens
With the support of our corporate sponsors, we provide selected participating households with home herbal garden kits. This initiative was conceptualised to promote the conservation of native herbs and medicinal plants, further, this would empower the participating households to become self sustainable.
The Kit
A home herbal garden kit typically includes essential items such as seeds of various herbs like basil, mint, thyme, oregano, and parsley, along with biodegradable pots or seedling trays for planting. Additionally, Indian medicinal plants like neem, tulsi (holy basil), ashwagandha, aloe vera, and turmeric can also be included in the kit for their health benefits and traditional medicinal uses. It also contains organic potting soil or compost, plant markers for identification, and a watering can or spray bottle for maintenance. The kit will also include fertilizers, gardening gloves, small tools like trowels and pruners, pest control solutions, and educational materials on herbal gardening benefits. These kits are designed to be user-friendly and promote sustainable gardening practices for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.
Insitutional Herbal Gardens
Apart from the home herbal garden kits, we sponsor setting up of herbal gardens at schools and other educational institutions. This will teach the students the importance of native herbs and medicinal plants, while imparting them with the responsibility of taking care of delicate plants and seedlings, thus allowing them to develop nurturing qualities from an early age. This will also act as an important conservation measure for plant species that are dying out because of rampant urbanisation and habitat destruction.
